Do you want to find the best tacos?
Look for a roadside stand, preferably in a small rural town, run by people for whom Spanish is their first language.
The tacos are always authentic, and if you’re lucky may come in handmade tortillas. Generously stuffed and freshly-made, they tend to be reasonably priced too.
Taco stand owners are usually feeding their neighbors so they take more care when preparing the food than some chains do. Why give your money to corporate-owned stores when buying from local small business owners gets you better food?

You Never Know
You just never know what’s around the corner.
After eating my to-go tacos in a small town park, I went looking for a trash can.
Turning a corner, I found myself in an art installation… a colorful mural framing weird steel sculptures which, as the labels explained, are functional exercise equipment.
Nearby (but not seen here) was steel ping pong table, complete with a steel net.
I’d like to hear how a ping pong ball sounds bouncing on that shiny steel surface!

Ruby red
Notes flow from orange beak
Sharp edged sound
Still somehow round
Sharp, like Cardinal’s peak.

To peck about at will!
To wander where the food is found
Until you’ve had your fill.
