The Moon embraces Earth’s shadow
Much like she embraces her own
Out of sight Sun light brightly blocked
Streetlight etches shadows on stone
Orion’s belt points to the Moon
Pleiades floats high to the right
Great pine trees loom under the Moon
Black shadows darker than the night
Shadows and darkness are colors
Shadings of gray, black, and white
Grayscale exhibits a beauty
That accents the colors of light.

New Toy!
The Old Lady’s new toy is an app that lets her view the live camera feed from the International Space Station (ISS).
Mostly the feed shows white clouds drifting over blue oceans. Such a view!
But The Old Lady was truly fascinated by real-time video of the recent departure of the crew Dragon from the ISS.
For two hours she watched the undocking and flyaround as the Dragon circled the ISS so astronaut Akihiko Hoshide could photograph all sides of the ISS. She could see the Draco thrusters as they fired! How exciting!
“You can crush your candy and aggravate birds,” chirped The Old Lady, “or you can witness science in action and learn new stuff. Your choice.”
LISTEN to The Old Lady!
Tree Breeze
Breathe
Exhalation of tree and leaf
Exultation of trunk and limb
Tree breeze
Stirs her own leaves
Along with those of others.

Welcome to My World
The Old Lady sat at the remote end of a state park trail, where the boardwalk through the wetland ends at the river.
Silence…
… until a couple of hikers came clomping along the boards
They didn’t see The Old Lady until they were upon her, and one apologized.
“Sorry to interrupt. “
“No problem.”
He took in the view, then spoke again.
“It’s yours, isn’t it?”
“It is,” replied The Old Lady, “every time I’m here.”
She smiled.
“But I like to share.”
