Wild azaleas are indigenous to the state of Georgia, and can be found from the extreme southern flatwoods to the northern hills that morph into mountains which make up the southmost Appalachians.
But The Old Lady found them blooming this February in north Florida.
There were several at Jennings Bluff, south of Jennings FL, displaying pale pink clouds of blossoms over the Alapaha River.

“I picked up two ticks in those woods,” The Old Lady admitted ruefully, “but it was worth it for such a glorious sight.”
LISTEN to The Old Lady!
